General Counsel

Beztak is hiring a General Counsel. The General Counsel is the head of the company’s in-house legal department, who provides legal advice and acts as a legal representative.

Essential Functions

• Advising executive, and management on various matters such as legal rights, and new and existing laws.
• Managing organization's legal matters and corporate records.
• Reviewing and advising on standard real estate agreements (i.e., leases, contract, loans, etc.)
• Drafting and reviewing agreements, such as letter of intentions, purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, employment agreements and vendor contracts.

• Reviewing and managing any acquisition, dispositions or lender financing closing.
• Serves as key lawyer/legal advisor on all major business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and joint ventures

• Conducting legal research and reviewing company's litigation strategy pertaining to legal actions.
• Promulgating and creating directives of corporate acts and decisions.
• Advises on legal aspects of the company’s financing, including assessing and advising on current and future business structures and legal entities
• Leads effort with outside counsel on litigation matters
• Liaising with outside counsel regarding their assignments.
• Creating new entities and managing organization's intellectual property
• Handling statutory filings, such as licensing forms

Qualifications & Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• 15+ years’ experience as a practicing attorney

• Strong negotiating skills
• Works well with other team members.
• Ability to work well under pressure with demanding deadlines

• Ability to work independently with little oversight
