Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI), a dynamic, midsized government contractor providing IT, consulting, clinical, and nuclear engineering and remediation services to the federal government is hiring a Deputy General Counsel to be a part of the leadership team. This position has growth potential to be the next General Counsel of the company as well as other leadership roles. The candidate selected will be an essential member of the PSI team working on the most critical government projects impacting our nation’s veterans, military servicemembers, and community at large.

Job Summary:

Unique opportunity to be groomed as the next General Counsel for a mid-sized technology and consulting government contracting company that’s achieved success for more than 35 years by putting the needs of the customer and its employees first. Will report directly to the General Counsel in helping the business continue to grow and deliver success to its customers by providing practical legal advice.

Essential Responsibilities:

Understanding and promoting the company’s unique corporate culture.

Become knowledgeable in other corporate areas (e.g., HR, Finance, and Operations) to help each C-Suite Manager achieve their goals for the company.

Help the company solve legal, people, and organizational problems.

Advise and counsel senior leadership and other stakeholders primarily in the areas of government contracts law, labor & employment, and litigation matters, including representing the company before various administrative forums.

Minimum Requirements:

JD degree from a nationally recognized, accredited law school required. Must be a member in good standing with a bar of any state. Must have or be able to obtain Corporate Counsel certification from the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners if not otherwise barred in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

This position requires at a minimum of five (5) years of experience in government contracts law with solid understanding of attendant labor & employment issues that arise in government contracting. Willingness to learn other areas of law, including but not limited to M&A, SBA small business rules and regulations, and security clearance matters.
