Position Summary:

The General Counsel holds responsibility for providing legal counsel for the Oma enterprise. We are looking for a motivated General Counsel who's not afraid to get their hands dirty and bring their expertise to our team. The General Counsel reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities may include:

Provide insightful and trusted counsel to the Chief Executive Officer, the rest of the executive leadership team, and Board on issues related to any and all legal matters and processes.

Conduct frequent reviews of new legislation to determine how they impact the company, its processes and systems; report on these impacts and oversee any necessary changes required by new rules to ensure that all processes remain in legal compliance.

Ensure that all products and services are fully compliant with existing laws, guidelines, and regulations.

Ability to provide guidance to product development teams on workflows based on legal expertise in healthcare.

Bring a data-driven approach to operationalizing the legal function, monitoring and reporting on performance metrics tied to the function, and participating in other corporate initiatives.

Prepare, submit, and disseminate reports internally and externally to regulatory bodies as needed.

Negotiate, oversee, and draft key agreements and structure new business relationships; advise on vendor agreements

Advise executive team on business expansion and growth strategies

Work closely with the security, product development, People, and IT teams as part of the risk and information security management team.

Hands on leader with the ability to work collaboratively across all functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum JD degree and 5+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or a scaling start-up.

Experience advising and counseling management on a wide range of legal matters impacting ongoing business operations.

Success serving as a key member of the leadership team, in providing input to the CEO, Board, and management peers regarding the regulatory implications of all major business decisions, as well as strategic objectives.

Healthcare experience is a must.

Required Certifications, Memberships, and/or Licensure:

Active law license through the State Bar, in any US State
