General Counsel

The Santa Monica Rent Control Board is accepting applications for the position of General Counsel. Applicants must be admitted to the California State Bar and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in litigation including appellate practice and administrative writs of mandate, and experience advising public bodies in open and closed session meetings. Experience in FPPC and conflicts of interest laws required. Desirable experience includes rent control and supervising lawyers. Familiarity with employment law a plus.

Salary: $14,337 - $17,700 per month plus substantial benefits
