General Counsel

Care Initiatives seeks to hire a General Counsel (GC) to be a key member of its executive team and take ownership of its legal strategy. In this role, the GC will report directly to the CEO, oversee the legal department and be responsible for providing legal advice to management. Expert legal advice will be expected to be provided related to care, payor, contracting, employment and regulatory issues including HIPAA and Compliance, etc.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of relevant legal experience including foundational training at a law firm and in-house experience serving as a General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel in a similarly-sized or larger company, preferably with experience in the healthcare industry on the provider side. Experience with corporate transactions, corporate governance and complex commercial transactions is required, as well as dispute management. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in working in a fast-paced environment focused on accelerating the growth of the business. He or she must possess outstanding leadership skills, ideally with the demonstrated ability to successfully lead, mentor and manage legal staff. J.D. required and must be a member of the bar or qualify for the “authorized house counsel” exception (member of the bar in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction).
