General Counsel

The Santa Monica Rent Control Board is accepting applications for the position of General Counsel. Applicants must be admitted to the California State Bar and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience (7 – 10 years preferred) in litigation including appellate practice and administrative writs of mandate, and experience advising public bodies in open and closed session meetings. Experience in FPPC and conflicts of interest laws and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience supervising lawyers is required. Desirable experience includes rent control. Salary: $14,337 - $17,700 per month plus substantial benefits
