eJam is looking for an experienced and talented attorney to act as its General Counsel. You will be working closely with management as well as the various business units. The position involves traditional and digital advertising and marketing, e-commerce, and traditional corporate legal work.

Job Duties:

Develop and implement internal processes, to manage review and analysis of copy and other advertising/marketing content for new product launches and existing products.

Review and analyze all front-end marketing materials and content (i.e., website copy, landing pages, advertorials, and video scripts) to ensure compliance with legal/regulatory requirements.

Flag potential issues with website copy, landing pages, advertorials, and video scripts, and present risk assessment to management.

Counsel company on e-commerce, marketing, privacy, and advertising law and regulations (including UDAAP and FTC compliance).

Counsel company on patent avoidance, trademark issues, and other intellectual property matters.

Provide corporate advice to business on various general corporate matters, including incorporation of new business entities.

Review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents and recommend revisions as necessary.

Draft, review, and approve policies and procedures, regulations, bylaws, and other legal documents.

Manage the company’s DMCA notice and takedown process.

Manage relationships with outside counsel.

Familiarity with e-commerce law and an understanding of FTC compliance.

Knowledge of intellectual property law, including trademark, patent avoidance, and copyright law.

Experience handling general corporate matters, including new business formation and contract negotiations.

Special Requirements:

Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Visual acuity.

Ability to provide competent legal advice and counsel to company management on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues.

Knowledge of current and developing legal issues and trends in area of expertise.

Ability to supervise and coordinate work by outside counsel and consultants.

Ability to create, implement, organize, prioritize, and schedule internal processes to conduct compliance review without business disruption.

Ability to develop and implement legal strategies and solutions.

Must be in California

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of legal experience.

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Licensed and in good standing to practice law in California or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state via registered in-house counsel status.

Experience working on advertising and marketing legal, regulatory, and compliance issues.

Familiarity with e-commerce law and an understanding of FTC compliance.

Knowledge of intellectual property law, including trademark, patent avoidance, and copyright (DMCA).

Experience handling general corporate matters, including new business formation and contract negotiations.

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 (commensurate with experience) + stock options
