Position Summary

Arkose Labs is looking for an experienced General Counsel to set the vision and leadership of global legal strategy and services, and the management of risk throughout the organization. Working closely with executive leadership and our board of directors, you will help build the business and future of our company. You'll also help Arkose Labs navigate and creatively solve legal and risk issues as we grow in revenue, headcount, product lines, office locations and complexity.

We are seeking a talented, self-motivated and experienced attorney that is excited by taking on and leading a body of complex strategic commercial engagements, thrives in a fast-paced environment and can seamlessly drive success working with multiple cross-functional stakeholders to accomplish bold things.

Primary Responsibilities

In this role, you will be drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts for strategic relationships, including development and distribution agreements, technology licenses, and beta and prototyping agreements. You will also advise executives on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial transactions and general operations. You will also work closely with team members across functions - including product, engineering, data, strategic partnerships - to work on a wide range of corporate matters and represent Arkose Labs with various external stakeholders. This role reports to the COO & CFO of Arkose Labs.

Must Have

Experience providing risk management advice to executive team members on a diverse set of issues, including data privacy, marketing, human resource management, product development, financing, mergers & acquisitions and engagements with customers, suppliers and partners.

Strong experience negotiating, drafting and reviewing a broad range of commercial agreements

Track record of close partnership with C-suite/senior level executives, influencing the business

Comfortable in a fast paced environment. Passionate about building new capabilities

Ability to translate legally complex situations into actionable strategies

Outstanding communication and partnership skills

Monitor and respond to regulatory changes where we do business

Ability to provide effective advice in the context of business objectives and to execute in a fast-moving culture

Ability to calibrate risk to support innovation while appropriately protecting the company
