General Counsel

Cherre provides investors, lenders, insurers, brokers and other large enterprises with a platform to collect, resolve, and augment real estate data from thousands of public, private, and internal sources. By providing a “single source of truth,” we empower companies to evaluate opportunities and trends faster and more accurately, while saving them millions of dollars in manual data collection and analytics costs.

Cherre is looking for a General Counsel to build our Legal team from the ground up. This position will be responsible for designing and building a world class legal function that will sit at the center of our organization and will bring both a strategic and operational approach to supporting our growth. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a rapidly changing environment and leading efforts to continuously build a professional infrastructure for scale.

You will

Provide the leadership team and the Board of Directors with strategic legal advice across a wide range of matters encompassing all functions of a fast-growing Enterprise SaaS business, including general corporate, corporate governance, commercial contracts, data privacy and security, intellectual property, employment, litigation, compliance and risk management.

Advise on and direct corporate legal matters relating to company reporting and corporate governance, ESG, investor relations, and equity operations.

Manage commercial contracts across cross-functional business verticals including but not limited to: Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Technology, Data Science, Finance, and HR.

Collaborate with the leadership team in long-term planning, providing strategic insight and helping shape the future of Cherre.

Manage relationships with outside counsel.

You have

JD degree and actively admitted to the New York bar.

Experience leading companies through stages of growth including: financings and mergers and acquisitions.

Strategic thinker with the ability to distill complex legal matters into effective and practical business solutions balancing an appropriate level of risk.

Startup experience a must.

Enjoys working cross functionally and collaborating with a diverse range of functions.

Excellent communicator.

Proactive in anticipating and addressing business needs in a high growth environment.

Willingness to operate as the “last line of defense” on high stakes legal and risk guidance in real time.
