Job Description

As General Counsel you’ll integrate a risk management process across Moov to identify, measure, monitor and control critical risks within the environment and oversee a variety of legal needs for its growing technology. You’ll play a critical role, working with multiple internal teams as you define, document & implement the risk policies along with providing sound legal advice and strategic decision-making for Moov.

As a member of our team, you’ll:

Oversee the legal matters of Moov as a whole, including acting as the business’s legal representative and advisor

Maintain necessary, obligatory and required legal documentation and terms and conditions, including corporate governance, purchase statements, NDAs, employment agreements, PIIAs and privacy statements

Provide guidance and manage outside counsel specialists, related to non-bank financial services, privacy and data security related to non-bank financial institutions regulatory and legal obligations. Working closely with Moov’s business, technology and compliance teams to develop and implement appropriate practices, policies, procedures and legal controls and protocols related to fraud and regulatory compliance risk

Lead efforts to reduce business risks that would negatively impact business objectives

Be comfortable working within an API driven platform, able to leverage Customer compliance programs where appropriate

Develop internal training for Moov staff regarding risk procedures developed

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with an active bar license in the U.S.

10+ years of practical experience with a law firm in general corporate practice, finance and/or M&A group. Candidates with in-house experience are preferred

5+ years working in financial service with direct involvement in risk management

Experience developing risk maps and strategic action plans to help minimize, manage, and mitigate risk

Ideally experienced in supervising a team

An ability to work independently within a small, fast-paced team

An entrepreneurial spirit and unrelenting passion to deliver the best experience possible

The ability to implement feedback, learn quickly, and contribute new ideas
