General Counsel

We are looking for an excellent General Counsel to join our growing team. In this role, you will have opportunity to use your legal expertise to have a big impact on a rapidly growing SaaS company in an exciting industry. Our ideal candidate is a business-minded lawyer who is focused on execution, prepared to lead important company deals, projects, and collaborate with all teams within the company.

We are seeking a business-minded individual who will take time to understand our business and clients with strong follow-up skills and the ability to present sound practical advice.

What You'll Do:

Provide expert and strategic advice to management

Draft and review SaaS agreements to ensure they are in compliance with legal requirements

Draft and negotiate various agreements including enterprise agreements, partnership agreements and other commercial transactions, with a focus on high-volume client contracts

Research and assess legal issues and provide advice to minimize potential legal risks

Assist in counseling colleagues on a variety of business law and HR issues

Collaborate with our Sales, Customer Success and other teams within the company

Base your decisions making process on ethics and integrity

What You’ll Bring to the Position:

J.D. degree from an ABA-Accredited law school

Admitted and in good standing with a state bar and are eligible to register for the New York’s State in-house counsel program

3+ years in contract review, drafting, and negotiations

In-house experience a plus

Knowledge of California and New York law preferred

Experience in the SaaS and Media industries, as well as knowledge of security and data-privacy laws a plus

Strong negotiating skills with a common-sense approach

Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across all business departments

Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Experience interacting with and presenting to senior executives

Exceptional multi-tasking and prioritization skills

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Solutions-oriented with a strong business acumen

Good judgment, attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
