Essential Functions as General Counsel:

General Counsel oversees internal legal matters and provides legal advice and strategies to an organization?s executive team. Main duties include reviewing and writing various internal legal contracts, negotiating and managing client and vendor contracts, and ensuring legal compliance regarding employee matters and mergers and acquisitions. All employees consistently support and promote the company mission, five key beliefs, philosophies, and provide Superior Customer Service in all aspects of the job.

Job Duties as General Counsel:

Advising executive members on new laws, existing laws, and legal rights that would impact the functionality of the business.

Overseeing the legal matters of the business as a whole, including acting as the business? legal representative.

Maintaining knowledge of the company?s legal documents and operations.

Crafting and reviewing legal strategy in response to any litigation.

Keeping a record of all legal documents and proceedings for the company.

Facilitating filings of licensing forms and other statutory requirements.

Communicating with outside counsel when necessary for litigation and collection purposes.

Manage administrative charges and insurance matters.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have 7+ years of experience practicing law in a corporate environment or law firm setting.

Prior experience with business, employment, real estate, and corporate issues is preferred.

Management, supervisory, or team-lead experience preferred.

Ability to work cross-functionally to proactively communicate and resolve issues with the highest sense of urgency.

Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
