Lift Brands is seeking a General Counsel to join its legal department. Lift Brands is the parent company to a collection of fitness-minded businesses, including Snap Fitness. This is a rare in-house opportunity to join a global franchisor and make a significant impact on the company.The primary responsibility of the General Counsel is to be a strategic partner to the business, providing sound and reasonable legal advice. The position will support all business units and report directly to the Chief Global Development Officer & Chief Legal Officer.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage the internal legal and franchise administration function to provide strategic and practical advice, as well as high-caliber and responsive legal services to the Companys executives and business functions

• Provide legal guidance on general corporate matters as they arise, including but not limited to acquisitions and divestitures, employment and real estate

• Drive strategy and execution on litigation and dispute resolution

• Oversee the selection, retention, management and evaluation of all outside counsel worldwide

• Monitor and improve controls and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including franchise regulations

• Identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks

• Create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders

• Develop, direct and motivate the legal and franchise administration team

• Any and all other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Licensed attorney in the state of Minnesota (or ability to obtain MN House Counsel License)

• 8+ years of experience, including prior experience managing an in-house legal team

• Must have significant understanding of franchise law and franchise relationships

• Combination of experience in one or more of the following areas desired: corporate governance, transactions, litigation strategy and management, international, general contracts/ commercial matters, real estate, marketing and advertising

• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced and highly challenging environment and maintain very high quality expectations

• Excellent business judgment with the ability to make decisions and give advice that demonstrates an understanding of overall business objectives and the risk/reward of each situation

• Demonstrated experience thinking strategically to solve legal challenges

• Ability to work as a team member, supporting the overall objectives of the organization in a pleasant and professional manner
