Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Pine Management, Inc. is currently seeking experienced General Counsel to serve as a key member of our team. Pine Management, Inc. has over 50 years of experience as owners and operators of multi-family property and is looking to expand the portfolio. At this time, Pine Management, Inc.’s portfolio consists of 38 properties located throughout New York City.
The candidate should be an experienced, motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented, and business-minded attorney who works well as a team player and can operate in a fast-paced office. You will have the opportunity to work with seasoned professionals in a collaborative environment. The candidate must have strong knowledge in various aspects of law, including, but not limited to: landlord/tenant, transactional, leasing, rent regulation, administrative, human resources, corporate, and torts/contracts.
Responsibilities:
§ Preparing and negotiating insurance/indemnification agreements, commercial leases, amendments, service contracts, construction contracts and other agreements.
§ Assisting specialty counsel with litigation, purchases, sales, financings, and joint ventures.
§ Providing counsel to all company departments on legal matters impacting their areas of responsibility, including property management, human resources, and compliance.
§ Serve as a strategic thought partner and legal advisor on business strategy and standard operating procedures.
§ Advise cross-functional stakeholders on risk factors, how to weigh them against business objectives, and how to mitigate them, helping us find creative solutions to complex problems.
§ Develop a deep knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to our business.
The right candidate should possess the following:
§ 3+ years of experience at a top law firm
§ JD with ability to practice law in New York
§ Exceptional judgment and ability to act decisively, creatively, and with discretion with situations requiring quick but thorough analysis and decision-making
§ Strong communication and negotiation skills
§ Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and develop new ideas with results
§ Extremely well-organized and detail-oriented professional with high emphasis on the ability to communicate and follow-up on tasks on-time, through completion
Start date for the position is immediate. Compensation will be commensurate to the level of experience.
