The General Counsel will provide a full range of company-wide legal analysis, advice and solutions to the organization under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Executive Officer (CEO), or Board of Directors. The General Counsel will be responsible for making and enacting legal decisions that have a far-reaching impact on P3 Health Partners or subsidiaries (P3HP) and its performance. This includes working in a wide variety of legal areas, including employment matters, contracting, health care regulatory matters, and corporate governance in multiple states. Be a key partner to the business, with the need to understand the strategy and trajectory of the company, and to assist the business with solutions to reach collective short and long-term goals and initiatives. Investigates, researches and provides general legal advice concerning a broad range of questions and circumstances which arise in day-to-day business activities, operations and health care compliance.

Reviews and manages contested matters as well as open litigation as directed by the COO, CMO, CEO or Board of Directors, to minimize exposure to P3HP and educates management as to how to avoid future litigation.

Works with the Compliance and People Services departments on matters related to HIPAA, OSHA, conflicts of interest, risk management, employee relations, FMLA, ADA and compliance with employment laws. Assists in research, review, analysis, drafting, negotiation, and approval of various documents, contracts, policies, procedures and obligations to which P3HP is or may become a party.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Juris Doctorate (JD) from A.B.A. Accredited Law School. Valid license to practice law in Nevada and good standing with the Nevada State Bar Association; Must have 5+ years of legal experience: In a corporate legal department or law firm (which provided counsel to a corporation on a variety of legal matters), practicing labor/employment law, and drafting and negotiating general business contracts. Ability to distinguish the relevant facts, ask appropriate questions, assimilate and analyze the information and apply legal relationships is required. Knowledge of health care and/or regulatory law is plus. Experience working in health care compliance is preferred.

Candidates should have demonstrated experience with healthcare-related business transactions or litigation (e.g., licensing board actions, healthcare fraud and abuse laws i.e., Stark and federal Anti-Kickback laws, Medicare, and HIPAA/HITECH), mergers and acquisitions, compliance, medical malpractice, healthcare regulatory affairs, and/or governmental relations, physician employment matters, or health-care related litigation.
