As MaxSent continues to experience rapid growth, we need an experienced Attorney who will help manage the Company’s actions regarding all legal matters related to operations and corporate matters. However, unlike the standard inside counsel we are seeking someone who wants to do more than that. In this role, you will use both a "business" and a "legal" approach, requiring responsibilities and competencies in various areas of corporate and employment/labor law, labor negotiation, contracts, proposal writing and risk management.

This role will also function as business development with an emphasis on proposal writing to support the executive team in creating clear, concise, and compliant proposals to the federal government and commercial clients.

This position will work across all levels and departments of the organization to contribute to MaxSent’s mission by:

Advising and providing strategic management to leadership on all labor and employment law areas, including collective bargaining agreements and negotiations, union grievance and arbitration proceedings, and wage and hour.

Drafting provisions for and amendments to collective bargaining agreements.

Partner with Human Resources on day-to-day employment matters.

Review contracts, potential teaming, and partnership agreements with private entities.

Developing and drafting technical proposals for government and commercial prospects. This includes providing writing and editing support to sections of proposal documents (management sections, technical solutions, past performance, and corporate experience, resumes, etc.)

Manage all reporting requirements of joint ventures and mentor protégé relationships.

Managing the business development function, proposal writing, and response to RFP process from cradle to grave with the support of the executive team.

Some Qualifications and Requirements:

J.D. degree required along with membership in good standing in the Maryland State Bar as an attorney.

1-3+ years of substantive legal experience with an emphasis in labor and employment, corporate, contracts and/or litigation practice areas.

Excellent written communication skills with a proven-track record of effective professional writing.

Experience drafting and enforcing company policies, including Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, workplace regulations.

Experience working for a federal contractor especially with union and labor relations

The ability to work with outside counsel when needed.

Experience reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contracts, proposals, and associated documents to support business activities.

Proficiency and skill working with Microsoft Office

Willingness and flexibility to learn and master new and different legal and corporate business practice areas

Office is located in Annapolis, MD.
