General Counsel

Location: Westminster, CO

Responsibilities of the General Counsel are, but not limited to, the following:

Providing legal advice to management

Setting internal legal governance policies

Engaging franchise attorneys in the USA and other countries as needed

Minimizing the engagement of franchise attorneys in the USA

Evaluating, providing legal opinions and recommending different possible courses of action for legal consequences to eliminate or mitigate risks

Ensuring legal compliance with franchise laws and registrations

Drafting franchise and other legal agreements

Keeping abreast of legal changes that could affect the company

Advising management on legal matters

Examining and creating franchise-related and other agreements

Acquiring knowledge of the organization's current legal documents

Conducting legal research

Creating and preserving corporate minutes

Handling franchising and other filings to comply with local, state and federal laws and regulations

Managing the organization's trademarks and other intellectual property

Negotiating with external parties as requested, such as state franchise regulators

Attending Executive Team meetings as requested by the CEO

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years practicing law with a minimum of 2 years of practice that primarily focused on franchise law

Juris Doctor degree from accredited USA law school

Excellent verbal, written communication and negotiation skills

Excellent judgment and analytical

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
