Podsights is a growing, distributed organization seeking a general counsel to join the team. Here's a little about us, a little about what we believe, and what we are looking for.

Podsights is the operating system for podcast advertising. We likely work with your favorite publisher and handle over 7 billion events a month.

Our mission is simple, we are looking to grow the podcast industry. Far too many brands try a podcast advertising campaign and churn. Or worse: they don’t even try to enter the market. By providing a platform for brands to understand and scale podcast advertising, we encourage investment in podcast advertising, and by proxy to publishers.

As our first legal hire, your role will be a diverse one:

Privacy is a priority for us, so you will need a strong background in digital privacy, especially as it pertains to adtech and media. You can cite GDPR and CCPA passages in your sleep, and you have a map with pins for each state with an upcoming privacy law. Terms like "data controller", "service provider", and "standard contractual clauses" make your ears perk up.

We sit in the middle of brands, agencies, and publishers, so our contracts have some important differences. Ideally, you care about efficient, well-structured contracts and the negotiations that go along with them. Organization is key here.

We also have important partnerships with data partners, and will lean on you to evaluate how these partnerships fit in with our data strategy.

At Podsights, we look for ambition and curiosity. We want folks who care about the "why" behind decisions, and look for ways to work smarter. In the face of complex legal topics, you value simplicity and clarity.

Different backgrounds bring different perspectives, and we believe this helps us be better problem solvers. We encourage applications from all sorts of diverse backgrounds.

Ideally you will have 4-6 years relevant experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm, have strong familiarity with GDPR and CCPA, and have some experience drafting and negotiating contracts. Experience in adtech, podcasting, or media is a nice-to-have.
