JOB SUMMARY:

The General Counsel acts as the chief lawyer of Triller and serves on the executive team as the company’s legal representative. This individual will provide educated legal advice to senior management, board members, and other executives on various legal matters and instruct them on how to remain compliant with current corporate laws. The General Counsel is trusted with all legal documents and private company information and applies this information to help Company’s leadership make informed strategic decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Remain informed on all changes on the federal, state, city and county measures that could impact the operations of Triller and its affiliates

Supervise, develop, and elevate Company’s legal team

Provide legal advice to Triller’s senior management, board members and other executives on various legal matters and inform them on how to remain compliant with corporate laws

Anticipate and identify legal issues and counsel executives and upper management to develop legal strategies and solutions

Draft, review, and approve policies and procedures, regulations, bylaws, and other legal documents

Creates legal agreements, such as; employment, vendor, severance, and NDA agreements

Maintain knowledge of organization’s operations and legal documents

Conduct legal research and reviewing company's litigation strategy pertaining to legal actions

Review contracts, leases, and other legal documents; research legal issues and recommends revisions as necessary

Represent or oversee the representation of the Company in judicial and administrative proceedings, and in negotiations with other state agencies

Spearhead Company’s M&A efforts to ensure legal compliance

Create new corporate entities and manage organization's intellectual property

Liaising with outside counsel regarding their assignments

Collaborate with HR in any escalated ER issues and review HR SOPs and documents as needed

Other duties as required

SKILLS:

Excellent knowledge of M&As and corporate compliance

Experience in Content and Social Media industry

Previous experience working in a fast-paced start-up, entertainment, or media company

Experience supervising teams of up to five team members

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills

Ability to remain calm and collected in high pressure situations

Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful

Ability to multi - task and prioritize duties

Posses a good understanding of web, social, and talent & creator landscape

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and Slack.

A commitment to excellence and a deep belief in diversity and collaboration

J.D. required

20+ years of relevant experience required

Experience working as a Partner in a law firm preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to talk or hear in order to give and receive information and instructions

Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls

Ability to reach with hands and arms

Ability to use computer keyboard up to 80% of the day

Visual acuity, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision for work on a laptop or other computer equipment

Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
