Tranont is looking for an experienced attorney to come on board full time as our General Counsel. This position would be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the business including but not limited to IP, contracts, claims, and compliance matters. Experience in the direct sales inductry is a must.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage legal services offered to Tranont associates including entity setup and estate plan creation.

Contract drafting, negotiation, editing and review. Advising business on all contacts. Manage contract administration.

Assist with corporate structure including creation, acquisition, merger, sale, or dissolution of subsidiaries or other entities.

Assist with claims and litigation, including strategy development, fact gathering, development of procedures to mitigate future risk, management of outside counsel, and review of documents.

Assist in developing and overseeing corporate compliance matters, including corporate governance and ethics, federal and international standards concerning product sourcing, FTC rules and regulations, including advertising practices, product content, and quality representations, CPSC rules and procedures, federal and state health and safety laws concerning lead and other environmental contaminants, and federal and state laws regarding the sale of certain goods. Advise business and provide risk analysis on new and ongoing initiatives regarding compliance matters.

Advise business on employment law-related matters.

Manage corporate intellectual property, including trademark, trade dress, and copyright issues.

Field support and speaking/training at occasional regional, national, and other events.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be a licensed attorney in good standing. Candidates licensed in multiple states or willingness to become licensed in multiple states are preferred

Experience with Network Marketing industry

Comfortable speaking on the phone and working with clients by email

Comfortable working on an array of legal issues

Experience in civil litigation, transactional matters, and business law a plus

Experience training, supervising, and developing paralegal staff

Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with business partners

Ability to prepare webinar trainings and/or recordings

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Willing to perform other operational tasks as needed
